Covid: Interferon - Journal of Research and Experiential Medicine

Coronavirus has been found to prevent the cells in the lungs from creating interferon. In premature babies, the lungs do not create surfactant. A surfactant has been created which can be sprayed into the lungs of premature babies so that they can survive until they are able to create their own surfactant.

Could this same technique be used to spray interferon into the lungs of people who have Coronavirus?
